This study was carried out in Erzurum ecologi-cal conditions between 2011 and 2012. The aim of the study was to evaluate the yield and yield charac-teristics of some sugar beet varieties. In this study, five sugar beet varieties (Aranka, Esperia, SR-374, Eldorado and Idaho) were used, and Root yields, sugar contents, sugar yields and dry matter contents were investigated. There were significant differ-ences (p <0.01) between the varieties in terms of in-vestigated characters. The highest root and sugar yield were in Eldorada (6899-1213 kg/da, respectively), and sugar content and dry matter content were in Idaho (18.9-22% respectively). As a result, Eldorada, which has the highest root yield per decare, and Idaho, which has the highest sugar content, can be recommended for Erzurum region.
