Abstract

The scale was developed to assess the attitudes of young adults aged 18-25 years toward sexual health. The scale was methodologically developed based on the instrument development guidelines proposed by Robert F. DeVellis. The sample consisted of 721 young individuals in Turkey. In the exploratory factor analysis, a scale with seven subdimensions explained 56.29% of the total variance was obtained. The confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated the scale had acceptable fit indices (χ² statistic divided by the degrees of freedom = 2.553, root-mean-square error of approximation = .066). The total Cronbach's α value of the scale was determined to be .94. The analyses conducted demonstrated that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for determining young adults' attitudes toward sexual health.
