Abstract
The aim of the study; to examine by document
analysis method theses on "critical thinking" in the field of
education. In the scope of the research; a total of 268 theses have
been analysed, registered in the database of the national thesis center
of Higher Education Institution which was carried out between
1999-2019. Thesis were determined by purposeful sampling
method. Content analysis was applied to the determined theses. As
a result, it has been determined that there are quantitative studies
where experimental and survey research methods are preferred and
that there are most master’s theses on critical thinking. It was found
that in thesis were more preferred sample level undergraduates and
data collection tools such as survey/scale. It was concluded that
more parametric analyses were used in theses. In the results obtained
in the theses, it is stated that levels of critical thinking in general is
at medium and low level.
