DÜNYA PAZARLARINDA PİYASA YAPISI: HAVAYOLU SEKTÖRÜNDE REKABETİN AMPİRİK ANALİZİ

Abstract

In this study, the market structure and competition level of the world airline marketwill be examined. In this context, it is aimed to determine the market structure and the level ofcompetitition based on market shares of certain airlines in the world. Air transportation in theworld is divided into seven different markets. These are Asia-Pacific, Australia, Eastern Europe,Latin America,Middle East, Africa, North America and Western Europe. In this study, the marketstructure and the level of competition competition in the mentioned markets and all over theworld were examined for the period 2006-2015. In the study, CRn and Herfindahl-Hirschman,Entropy and Comprehensive Concentration Indices, which are market concentration ratios,were used in the literature. The findings of the study show that in the mentioned markets, themarket structure is generally competitive, while the significant changes in the market structurehave taken place over the years.

Bu çalışmada dünyada havayolu pazarının piyasa yapısı ve rekabet düzeyiincelenmektedir. Bu kapsamda dünyadaki havayolu şirketlerinin belirli piyasalardaki pazarpaylarından hareketle piyasa yapısı ve rekabet düzeyinin tespit edilmesi hedeflenmektedir.Genel itibariye havayolu taşımacılığı yedi farklı pazara ayrılmıştır. Bunlar, Asya-Pasifik,Avustralasya, Doğu Avrupa, Latin Amerika, Orta Doğu-Afrika, Kuzey Amerika ve Batı Avrupaşeklinde sıralanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, bu pazarlarda ve tüm dünyada piyasa yapısı verekabet düzeyi 2006-2015 dönemi için incelenmiştir. Çalışmada literatürde yer alan piyasayoğunlaşma oranları CRn ve Herfindahl-Hirschman, Entropi ve Kapsamlı YoğunlaşmaEndeksleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın bulguları sözü edilen pazarlarda piyasa yapısının genelitibariyle rekabetçi olduğunu buna karşın yıllar itibariyle piyasa yapısında önemli değişimlerinmeydana geldiğini göstermektedir.
