dc.description.abstractOZET Oz yeterlik hayatin her alaninda oldugu gibi egitim faaliyetlerinde de onemli bir kavramdir. Kisinin herhangi bir eylemi planlama ve uygulama gucune iliskin kisisel dusuncesi olarak tanimlanabilecek olan oz yeterlik ogretmenlerde bulunmasi gereken ozelliklerden biridir. Oz yeterligi yuksek olan ogretmen, ogrencileri motive etmede daha basarili olur. Her bransta oldugu gibi sosyal bilgiler ogretmenlerinin de oz yeterlik duzeyleri ders basarisinda etkili bir faktordur. Sosyal bilgiler dersine kaynaklik eden en onemli alanlardan biri de cografyadir. Sosyal bilgiler ogretmenlerinin cografya konularina iliskin oz yeterliklerinin belirlenmesi hem ogretmenin kendini degerlendirmesi hem de ogrenciye etkisini gostermesi acisindan onemlidir. Bu amacla yapilan calisma Gao (2011) tarafindan gelistirilen anketin online sekilde, tesadufi orneklem yontemiyle Turkiye’nin farkli illerinde gorev yapan 366 sosyal bilgiler ogretmenine uygulanmasiyla gerceklestirilmistir. Iki alt boyuta sahip olan anketin sonuclarina gore ogretmenlerin cografya konularinin ogretimine ve sonuc beklentisine yonelik oz yeterlik algilari orta duzeydir. Ogretmen oz yeterlikleri cinsiyet, yas ve kidem degiskenlerine gore farklilik gostermezken, egitim durumu ve mezun olunan bolum degiskenlerinde anlamli farklilik tespit edilmistir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Sosyal bilgiler ogretmeni, cografya, oz yeterlik ABSTRACT Self-efficacy is an important term in every state of life as well as in educational activities. Self-efficacy that can be defined as personal thoughts about planning and applying. All those any acts of that person is one of the features that have to be embodied by the teachers. The teacher who has high self-efficacy is going to have much success in motivating the pupils. social studies teachers’ levels of self-efficacy as well as in each branch is an effective factor in academic success. One of the most important areas that constitute a source to the social studies is geography. Determining the social studies teachers’ self-efficacies in geographical subjects is very important in terms of ability to evaluate themselves and to present their impacts on students. The study which is carried out in accordance with this purpose is performed as online survey that is made by Gao (2011) and it is carried out by applying to 366 social studies teachers, working in different cities of Turkey, by means of the technique called ‘Random Sampling’. According to the results of the survey having two sub-dimensions, the social studies teachers’ senses of self-efficacy towards teaching the geographical items and expectation results are at medium level. While the self-efficacy of the teachers doesn’t differ in terms of sex, age and seniority variants, it has a reasonable difference from the point of educational background and departments that they graduated.
