8. Sınıf Cebirsel İfadeler ve Özdeşlikler Konusunun 7E Öğrenme Modeli ile Öğretiminin Öğrencilerin Akademik Başarıları ile Öğrenmenin Kalıcılığına Etkisi ve Öğrenci Görüşleri

Abstract

In this study, the effect on the academic achievements of students and the permanence of learning of teaching according to 7E learning model based on the constructivist approach of “Algebraic Expressions and Identities” was investigated, and the students' opinions were also included. The study was carried out with 50 students studying in the 8th grade of a state school in the center of a province in the Western Black Sea region in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year. There are 25 students in each of the randomly determined experimental and control groups. “Algebraic Expressions and Identities Achievement Test” and “Semi-Structured Interview Questions” were used as the data collection tools. According to the results of statistical studies, it was observed that the teaching of “Algebraic Expressions and Identities” according to the 7E learning model made a significant contribution to the academic achievement of the students and the permanence of the learning had a positive effect. In addition, it was found that the lessons taught with the 7E learning model activities increased the motivation of the students, and they were more active in the lessons, and they found the lessons fun and interesting.Bu çalışmada, “Cebirsel İfadeler ve Özdeşlikler” konusunun yapılandırmacı yaklaşıma dayalı 7E öğrenme modeline göre öğretiminin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve öğrenmenin kalıcılığına etkisi araştırılmış ve ayrıca öğrenci görüşlerine de yer verilmiştir. Çalışma 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılı güz döneminde Batı Karadeniz bölgesindeki bir ilin merkezinde bulunan bir devlet okulunun 8. sınıfında öğrenim görmekte olan 50 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Rastgele belirlenmiş deney ve kontrol gruplarının her birinde 25 er öğrenci bulunmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak “Cebirsel İfadeler Başarı Testi” ve “Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Soruları” kullanılmıştır. Yapılan istatistiksel çalışmaların sonuçlarına göre “Cebirsel İfadeler ve Özdeşlikler” konusunun öğretiminde 7E öğrenme modeline göre öğretiminin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına anlamlı bir katkı sağladığı ve öğrenmenin kalıcılığı üzerine olumlu yönde etki ettiği gözlemlenmiştir. Ayrıca 7E öğrenme modeli etkinlikleri ile destekli işlenen derslerin öğrencilerin motivasyonunu artırdığı, derslerde daha aktif oldukları, dersleri eğlenceli ve ilgi çekici buldukları sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.
