Özet
Karl Vogt's observation of dying frog cells in 1842 marked the beginning of the scientific study of controlled cell death. When John Kerr, Andrew Wyllie, and Alastair Currie invented the term "apoptosis" in 1972, research into controlled cell death continued to grow. Apoptosis was described by Kerr et al. as planned cell death that is distinguished from necrosis by morphological changes. Tang et al., 2019; Kerr et al., 1972.
