Scopus Classification of the temperature-dependent gain of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier by using data mining methods(2020-04-01) Yucel M.; Aslan Z.; Burunkaya M.In this study, the experimental results of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) system designed and experimentally installed in the C-band were classified by using data mining methods. The non-linearity of the EDFA gain with temperature is a problem for EDFA designers. For this reason, the wavelength range to be used in the design, the temperature values and change in the input power values of signals coming to the design are not linear with respect to the output power. Data mining method based on different models are proposed to solve this problem. The data set used contains four variables: temperature, wavelength, input power, and output power. The success results of at WEKA software (Waikato environment for knowledge analysis) were compared with 6 different algorithms. As a result of the analysis made, the C4.5 algorithm, which is the decision tree classification technique, obtained 98.4 % close results in experimental results. When the results are evaluated, data mining algorithms can be constructed and validated using larger data sets. This will help the fiber optic data to be quickly understood and easy to design for optical designers in practical applications.Item Effect Of Drought Stress On The Antioxidant Systems Of Two Sunflower Heliantus Annuus Cultivars(2006) Kavas M.; Kalemtas G.; Çelikkol Akcay U.; Bayrac A.T.; Ozgur E.; Baloglu Mc; Ercan O.; Yucel M.; Oktem H.A.Scopus Expression Analysis of TaNAC69-1 and TtNAMB-2, Wheat NAC Family Transcription Factor Genes Under Abiotic Stress Conditions in Durum Wheat (Triticum turgidum)(2012-10-01) Baloglu M.C.; Oz M.T.; Oktem H.A.; Yucel M.NAC-type plant-specific transcription factor genes encode proteins that play important roles in abiotic stress responses, as well as regulation of plant development. In the current study, expression profiles of wheat NAC-type transcription factor genes, TaNAC69-1 and TtNAMB-2, were examined under drought, salt, cold, and heat stress conditions in wheat. Based on reverse transcription quantitative PCR results, TaNAC69-1 was strongly expressed under drought, salinity, and high-temperature stress conditions. Compared to control samples, a quick response at the transcription level of TaNAC69-1 was observed after 3 h of salt treatment with a ninefold upregulation. Highest level of expression was observed at 24 and 48 h posttreatment under heat and salinity treatments, respectively. Meanwhile, expression of TtNAMB-2 was significantly induced by salt and low-temperature stresses. Salt treatment induced expression of TtNAMB-2 and caused a 13-fold increase in transcript copy numbers at 48 h posttreatment. Examination of expression changes under abiotic stresses may provide important information for understanding roles of TaNAC69-1 and TtNAMB-2 genes which might be involved in response to environmental stresses. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.Scopus Gain and noise figure enhancements of both C and L bands double pass Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier(2013-01-01) Yucel M.; Aslan Z.; Celebi F.V.; Goktas H.H.In this study, designed and optimized C and L band Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA) around 70 nm bandwidth, 36.53 dB average gain with an average noise figure of 5.8 dB properties are used. For this purpose, 16 channels Wavelength Division Multiplexed (WDM) system with channel spacing of 5.3 nm is taken into account. -30 dBm powers at the input signals (1530 nm-1610 nm) are applied to three port filter and then input signals are separated into C and L bands. Each band signals are separately amplified in double pass configuration. Finally, all signals are combined into a coupler and the overall configuration has wide bandwidth, high gain and low noise. © 2013 The Chamber of Turkish Electrical Engineers-Bursa.Scopus The Impact of ESG Criteria on Firm Value: A Strategic Analysis of the Airline Industry(2024-10-01) Yildiz F.; Dayi F.; Yucel M.; Cilesiz A.Scopus Vector construction strategies for transformation of wheat plant(2013-07-08) Baloglu M.; Battal A.; Aydin G.; Eroglu A.; Oz M.; Kavas M.; Oktem H.; Yucel M.Gene cloning and vector construction for plant genetic transformation are routine procedures in plant functional genomic studies. The availability of effective transformation vector is one of the pre-requisites for plant transformation studies. Here, we describe the construction of a series of transformation vectors through different genetic engineering techniques for wheat transformation. For this purpose, NAC-type transcription factor genes TaNAC69-1andTtNAM-B2 were isolated from T. aestivum and T. turgidum, respectively. Then they were cloned into different types of cloning and expression vectors. Besides traditional restriction enzyme digestion and ligation method, Gateway cloning technology which is a fast and reliable alternative cloning method were used for construction of wheat transformation vectors. The transformation vectors constructed in this study are suitable for use in both particle bombardment (biolistic) and Agrobacterium based transformation protocols for wheat plant.
