dc.description.abstractLa faune doit s'adapter à la présence humaine pour survivre dans l'Anthropocène, il est donc essentiel de comprendre les réponses des espèces aux humains dans différents contextes. Nous avons utilisé le piégeage par caméra comme objectif pour visualiser les réponses des mammifères aux changements de l'activité humaine pendant la pandémie de COVID-19. Sur 163 espèces échantillonnées dans 102 projets à travers le monde, les changements dans la quantité et le calendrier de l'activité animale variaient considérablement. Sous une activité humaine plus élevée, les mammifères étaient moins actifs dans les zones non développées mais de manière inattendue plus actifs dans les zones développées tout en présentant une plus grande nocturne. Les carnivores étaient les plus sensibles, montrant les plus fortes baisses d'activité et les plus fortes augmentations de la nocturne. Les gestionnaires de la faune doivent considérer comment l'accoutumance et la sensibilité inégale entre les espèces peuvent causer des différences fondamentales dans les interactions homme-faune le long des gradients d'influence humaine.
dc.description.abstractLa vida silvestre debe adaptarse a la presencia humana para sobrevivir en el Antropoceno, por lo que es fundamental comprender las respuestas de las especies a los humanos en diferentes contextos. Utilizamos la captura con cámara como lente para ver las respuestas de los mamíferos a los cambios en la actividad humana durante la pandemia de COVID-19. En 163 especies muestreadas en 102 proyectos en todo el mundo, los cambios en la cantidad y el momento de la actividad animal variaron ampliamente. Bajo una mayor actividad humana, los mamíferos eran menos activos en áreas no desarrolladas, pero inesperadamente más activos en áreas desarrolladas, mientras que exhibían una mayor nocturnidad. Los carnívoros fueron los más sensibles, mostrando las disminuciones más fuertes en la actividad y los mayores aumentos en la nocturnidad. Los administradores de vida silvestre deben considerar cómo la habituación y la sensibilidad desigual entre las especies pueden causar diferencias fundamentales en las interacciones entre humanos y vida silvestre a lo largo de gradientes de influencia humana.
dc.description.abstractWildlife must adapt to human presence to survive in the Anthropocene, so it is critical to understand species responses to humans in different contexts. We used camera trapping as a lens to view mammal responses to changes in human activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Across 163 species sampled in 102 projects around the world, changes in the amount and timing of animal activity varied widely. Under higher human activity, mammals were less active in undeveloped areas but unexpectedly more active in developed areas while exhibiting greater nocturnality. Carnivores were most sensitive, showing the strongest decreases in activity and greatest increases in nocturnality. Wildlife managers must consider how habituation and uneven sensitivity across species may cause fundamental differences in human-wildlife interactions along gradients of human influence.
dc.description.abstractيجب أن تتكيف الحياة البرية مع الوجود البشري للبقاء على قيد الحياة في الأنثروبوسين، لذلك من الأهمية بمكان فهم استجابات الأنواع للبشر في سياقات مختلفة. استخدمنا محاصرة الكاميرا كعدسة لعرض استجابات الثدييات للتغيرات في النشاط البشري خلال جائحة كوفيد-19. عبر 163 نوعًا تم أخذ عينات منها في 102 مشروعًا حول العالم، تباينت التغييرات في كمية وتوقيت النشاط الحيواني على نطاق واسع. في ظل النشاط البشري الأعلى، كانت الثدييات أقل نشاطًا في المناطق غير المطورة ولكنها بشكل غير متوقع أكثر نشاطًا في المناطق المتقدمة مع إظهار قدر أكبر من الحياة الليلية. كانت الحيوانات آكلة اللحوم أكثر حساسية، حيث أظهرت أقوى انخفاض في النشاط وأكبر زيادة في النشاط الليلي. يجب على مديري الحياة البرية النظر في كيفية تسبب التعود والحساسية المتفاوتة بين الأنواع في اختلافات جوهرية في التفاعلات بين الإنسان والحياة البرية على طول تدرجات التأثير البشري.

We used camera trapping as a lens to view mammal responses to changes in human activity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
