Assimilation in Abū al-Baqāʾ al-ʿUkbarī’s “Iʿrāb al-Qirāʾāt Alshawāz”

Abstract

The Assimilation is one of the Phonological Rules that explains many changes in the sounds of many words. And Imam Abū al-Baqāʾ al-ʿUkbarī paid much attention in his important book “Iʿrāb al-qirāʾāt alshawāz”, whose topic was the performance of the Rare Qur’anic readings.Then, the Assimilation was one of the ways of voice Orientation that Al-Ukbari relied on in syntax those readings that he studied and analyzed. for that this study aims to stand on al-ʿUkbarī's implementation of this phonetic law in the interpretation and Orientation of many of the Rare readings that he dealt with in his book; Which indicates his interest in this law and awareness of its importance.
