Fen ve Teknoloji Ders Kitaplarındaki Gösterim Türleri Arası Geçişlerin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Öğrenme ve öğretme araçlarının en çok bilineni olan ve birtakım niteliklere sahip olması beklenen ders kitapları, incelenmesi gereken araştırma konularından biridir. Ders kitaplarının incelenmesi ile ilgili literatürde farklı bakış açılarının temel alındığı ancak ders kitaplarında kullanılan gösterim türleri ve bu gösterim türleri arasındaki geçişler konusunda yeterli çalışmanın yer almadığı belirtilebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, 6., 7. ve 8. sınıf fen ve teknoloji ders kitaplarında kullanılan gösterim yöntemlerini ve aralarındaki geçişlerin niteliğini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu Başkanlığı tarafından ders kitabı olarak kabul edilen fen ve teknoloji ders kitaplarından farklı yayınevlerine ait ikişer adet ders kitapları bu çalışma kapsamında incelenmiştir. Çalışmada doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular doğrultusunda, incelenen ders kitaplarında, metinlerle yapılan bilgi sunumlarının dışında, çoğunlukla fotoğraf ve resim gösterim türlerinden yararlanıldığı, buna bağlı olarak da kullanılan gösterim türleri arasındaki ilişkilendirmelerde geçişlerin yetersiz olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca incelenen kitaplarda kullanılan gösterimlerin niteliğinin öğretim programında yapılan yönlendirmelere uygun temel oluşturacak nitelikte olmadığı ifade edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda, ders kitaplarının bu çalışma kapsamında ön plana çıkarılan beklentilerini karşılayacak şekilde yapılandırılması için kitap inceleme komisyonlarına ve program geliştiricilere; bundan sonra yapılacak çalışmalar için de araştırmacılara önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Textbooks, which are the mostwell-known of the teaching and learning tools and expected to have somequalities, are one of the research topics to be examined. That are based ondifferent perspectives in the literature related to the study of textbooks, butit could be specified that there weren’t enough study that analyze textbooks interms of multiple representations and transitions among them. The aim of thisstudy was to investigate the uses of and transitions between differentrepresentations in 6th, 7th and 8th grade science and technology textbooks. Twoeach science and technology textbooks which of different publisher, wereapproved by Chairman of the Board of Education, were examined in this study. Inthe study document analysis was used. According to findings it was seen thatthe textbooks which were examined, mostly benefit text representations toprovide information, as well as photos and pictures representations; accordinglytransitions are insufficient which used in association between representationtypes. Additionally, it was stated that the quality of the representation typesthat were used in the textbooks did not respond the expectations that were setby the curriculum. According to the results, it was recommended to the textbookreview commission and program developers to pay more attention for configuringtextbooks based on the objectives stated in this study and also to theresearchers for studies to be done after.
