Theparameters monitored are temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, electrical conductivity, totalhardness, total alkalinity, chemical oxygen demand, biological oxygen demand, and dissolvedanions and cations (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, ammonium, nitrate, phosphate,chloride, sulfate, and sulfite). Because of its low dissolved ionic matter content, Maruf Damwas characterized as an alkali dam with mid-hard water and low electrical conductivity. Interms of parameters A and B of Surface Water Quality Management Regulation, the dam isconsidered “high-quality” and “unpolluted”.
