Chestnut trees which are quite useful with their fruits, leaves, blossoms, barks and wood are decreasing quantitatively day by day because of the disease (Cryphonectria parasitica (Murr)Barr.) in Kastamonu province. In this province (Catalzeytin, Bozkurt, Inebolu and Cide towns), there are 1200 ha pure and 3700 ha mixed groups-chestnut forests. In these forests, chestnut trees being continued to dry up and the productivity of the trees have been decreased due to the blight. Ownership problems make the technical support in difficulty.
